Taking photo references at Vizcaya, I anticipated that the pictures taken all in the light
would be the most beautiful.  When I looked through them, though, the combination
of light and shadow was what brought out the most beauty. 

In this painting, I was unhappy with how it looked until I realized I had left out those shadows.
The shadows had to be there to bring out the beauty and life I was striving for. 

In my life, the shadows, or difficult things, also bring out the true beauty of Jesus’ light. 
The harder things are in my life, the more I depend on Jesus.  Knowing God is working
through my trials to bring about His beauty in my life helps me in the midst of my struggles.
